MacroDroid is the easiest way to automate tasks on your Android smartphone or tablet. Via the straightforward user interface MacroDroid makes it possible to build fully automated tasks in just a few taps.A few examples of how MacroDroid can help you to get automated:
# Auto reject incoming calls when in a meeting (as set in your calendar).
# Increase safety while commuting by reading your incoming notifications and messages (via Text to Speech) and send automated responses via email or SMS.
# Optimize your daily workflow on your phone; switch on bluetooth and start playing music when you enter your car. Or switch on WiFi when near your house.
# Reduce battery drain (e.g. dim screen and switch Wifi off)
# Saving on roaming costs (automatically switch off your Data)
# Make custom sound and notification profiles.
# Remind you to do certain tasks using timers and stopwatches.
These are just a few examples out of limitless scenarios where MacroDroid can make your Android life a little easier. With only 3 simple steps this is how it works:
1. Select a Trigger.
The trigger is the cue for the macro to start. MacroDroid offers over 80 triggers to start your macro, i.e. location based triggers (like GPS, cell towers, etc), device status triggers (like battery level, app starting/closing), sensor triggers (like shaking, light levels, etc) and connectivity triggers (like Bluetooth, Wifi and Notifications).
You can also create a shortcut on the homescreen of your device or run using the unique and customizable Macrodroid sidebar.
2. Select the Actions you like to automate.
MacroDroid can perform over 100 different actions, that you typically would do by hand. Connect to your Bluetooth or Wifi device, select volume levels, speak text (like your incoming notifications or current time), start a timer, dim your screen, run Tasker plugin and many more.
3. Optionally: Configure Constraints.
Constraints help you to let the macro fire only when you want it to.
Living near your work, but only want to connect to your company's Wifi during work days? With a constraint you can select specific times or days that the macro can be invoked. MacroDroid offers over 50 constraint types.
MacroDroid is compatible with Tasker and Locale plugins to expand the range of possibilities even further.

Too many gotchas, sorry. I downloaded this app to create a simple macro to reenable Wifi each day, if Wifi is off. Come to find out, the app EXPIRES after 7 days and the only ways to extend it are: pay $8 for the upgrade, or watch an ad every 3 days, forever. Then I tried to configure my macro and it told me it can no longer control wifi without downloading a third-party plugin, and launched a web link for me to download that. Nope nope nope! No thanks, nevermind. UI looked good, though.

Fantastic app! Everything I use is built-in unlike Tasker, which is fragmented across plug-ins and microtransactions. I like MacroDroid so much I've left Tasker after 10+ years. The developer is extremely helpful, quick to reply, and polite. Premium is definitely worth it. I've bought two copies now and plan to make donations in the future. My most recent macro is turning on wireless debugging and launching and activating Shizuku. This is all done with MacroDroid without the need for a plug-in!

A wonderfully user-friendly interface, comprehensive feature set (supporting just about anything you might want to do), rich documentation and active community make this app an absolute standout. It is stable and efficient, using very little battery in the background. No major issues to report, automation has never been so easy...and fun! Update 10/3/23 Ran into an issue and the dev worked promptly to troubleshoot. Turns out it was caused by a recent Android update. Great support!

Great app. Has helped me a lot in my efforts to break bad habits. Definitely room for improvement as well. I would really like the ability to turn off the quick setting enable/disable button. It's the biggest weakness of the app bc any automation i set can be overridden in less than a minute, disabling the whole app.

Adjusted my 5 star rating from 2018. I used to love this app, but it has become increasingly nonfunctional with android upgrades. It is still ok for some very basic stuff, but as of Android 13, it outright freezes the system on a regular basis, and I had to disable it or turn off most of the most useful macros. Too bad. It used to be one of my favorite apps for many years.

Even a novice can take advantage of the many tools available to make your Android more useful! My first macro was a simple notification for when I disconnect my Bose headphones from the bluetooth. I also had it send me a map location (which should have been standard with the Bose app). I copied it for my Jabra Bluetooth earpiece and my Bose earbuds. My second macro was a Ring notification with an automatic live view whenever someone was at the front door. Love this app.

Fantastic app! Mainly limited by your own imagination. I was able to make a simple call blocker that works better than any other filter service I've used in the past (including paid options). Most things in this app are straight forward, and even those without coding skills will be able to build automation scripts.

I have maybe 2 hours free daily, which means automating/wizarding things (even the smallest action) can save valuable time. While initially a bit of a learning curve, the amount of documentation both official and user-submitted makes MD very helpful and time-efficient once you get a few macros created! It also helps when you need a more customized solution to other apps; I recently built a quick widget for OCD tracking that will help guide recovery. Thanks for the effort and energy put into MD!
