IMO, CNN is a very good way of getting the latest news about the country's current issues. I would like to say that its coverage of most issues is great journalism. Their coverage of POLITICAL ISSUES is not as balanced as one would hope. This being said, if you want the republican view, switch to FOX! I firmly believe that the current journalists on CNN do an AMAZING JOB, sometimes with very little to work with, and give a view on their take on issues. It's my GO-TO station for the news.

Yesterday CNN had a text only mode!!! I Was so Happy!!! Today, that mode is nowhere to be found, I have pretty much stopped using the CNN app since it went video and picture heavy, I was so excited to be able to read JUST headlines and articles again! Today, I went back to catch up on the news, and the mode was nowhere to be seen. Guess I'll go back to using other news sources, I had been exited to be able to 'read' the news again.

4* for news. But 1* because it does not exit when you use the back button. The cnn app opens when you click on CNN news in a browser ( don't want it to ). And the app doesn't exit when you hit back. News. I like the live audio only option on the front page. Handy during car drives. BUT it does not work on my pixel 4a 5g via bluetooth. All the other usual audio and music apps work ok.

Right out of the gate, the app is already glitching. I picked a story out of the line up, and it said the story is not available. A commercial before every....every story. That is why I stopped watching television and listening to the radio. Nonstop Blues Music, best app ever. Zero ads.

Lately has been malfunctioning 9/10 times that I try opening it either from a link from Google or directly opening the app. I appreciate CNN's reporting, that's why I added the app in the first place. However, lately I feel like I miss certain news important to me because I can't access the stories on the app.

My rating is not about CNN itself, which is explicitly biased. For instance, while browsing the app, I see nothing from the Republican side, which disgusts me. But I'm rating now the app itself, which is very limited in news. News clips are extremely short, not worth the ad wait for these tiny clips. It doesn't feel like their information is up to date; some things stay in the news forever as if they were intentionally pinned. The app in general is ugly.

Videos now take between 30 seconds to a minute to load. This level of delay was not present in older versions. I'm not sure if this is an issue with an ad getting cued up or something else, but I find myself dumping out of many attempts to watch a video because I don't feel like waiting. I think this is especially important to resolve since it looks like CNN is now pushing more video based content on their phone app.

I wish I could give this app zero stars. Only about 10% of the content is useful to me. TOO MANY VIDEOS! Ads are taking over. Please limit ads to 15 s max. It's ridiculous to have a 30 s ad before every video clip. I really didn't even want the damn videos, would much rather just have text to read. If you post a video you should also post a transcript for those who can't watch it or are hearing impaired.
