What is this? News for stupid people? Huge icons, stories no where near as relevant as the older news and weather app, headlines that don't appear to be customisable, regions that assume a language/location pairing, and why the hell must I sign in just to read the news (and where is the sign out option?). Compared to the previous to-the-point app, this is a monumental step backwards.

I used to like this app for my news source but the automatic rescrolling back to the top of the page when you finish an article is infuriating. What is the point in making people scroll back down through the articles/headlines they've already seen to pick up where they left off? Update: Issue resolved, thank you. 2ND UPDATE: SCROLLING PROBLEM IS BACK. PLEASE FIX!

The updated Google News is barely useable: The app behaves inconsistently when changing the phone's orientation. Articles appear and disappear randomly when the news feed gets refreshed. Embedded media fail to play. Poor multi-country support. The algorithm building the news feed does a bad job at getting my interests right, not to mention intrusive system and browser integration as well as the poor quality of most articles. I much prefer the previous incarnation. Looking for another news app.

No matter how many times you select "show me fewer of this", or change the keywords to look for in the app, it keeps showing the same topics. Over and over again. I'm tired of it. I'll go back to RSS feeds I guess. :/ EDIT: Added 1 star because I respect the fact that someone replied. My phone was obviously connected to a network. I tried the app for a couple weeks, and content was not what I was looking for or unrelated. The algorithm this app uses just doesn't work as advertised.

Doesn't really seem to be intuitive about the types of things I want to read or see, no matter how much I give input to articles and things it puts in front of me. It's a neat idea but doesn't seem to be very well executed, like many things Google does. Not many glitches but the typical zero customer service or support I've come to see as synonymous with Google

I like the ability to scroll the widget for the latest world, national, and local news. I like the ability to access one news item from multiple sources within the application. SUGGESTION: The ability to remove pictures on widgets would allow for more of the headlines to be visible on the widget. Therefore, those with poor vision can view more of the headline with font size and zoom features maximized.

The app has been in decline for a year or so now. There are almost more ads than news, especially ads that are completely irrelevant to my interests, despite allowing Google to keep my data and learn about me at their leisure. The latest update broke the ability to refresh the page to load new stories. I wish I could roll back to a much older version. Unfortunately, I can't help but update with each new release. I always think, "they've must have finally improved it. This will be the one." Nope.

The new scrolling ads ruined this app. It was a nearly perfect news reader, until what seemed like the latest update when scrolling ads were introduced to the reader. The new ads make it impossible to finish an article, as they end up blocking sections of the text out with no way to get it to reappear. Will be using a different news app until it's fixed (fingers crossed, hopes and prayers)!
