I am unable to use my number for Google voice. If Google wouldn't have made it so difficult to record calls; I wouldn't be searching for hours to find a call app to go around this mess. :( Updated due to response from devs: Thanks for the help I thought about switching to this after looking up what you sent. Unfortunately I still need data in order to use my device to the fullest. The free call and message option looks amazing. I tried linking my number, let's see if I can get it to work.

Nice that I can text from my computer and my phone and have access across platforms. Update 10/30/24 I had to dock a couple stars for the absolute lack of useful updates, even in paid accounts. Where are RCS and video calls, even if it's only integration with Google Meets? Google Voice is an afterthought. When Duo was discontinued, I expected a lot of those functionalities to be merged with Google Voice. The only positive is that it's free.

I honestly think most of the reviews are fake because this is the most unreliable app ever. Always crashing, or "syncing" not allowing me to send pictures with my text messages, and worst of all, spam. Google allows spam/scam calls and messages, and I get them every single day. I honestly keep this app around in case I lose my phone and I need to retrieve contacts.

Lazy development: keeps reverting to using wifi instead of carrier for calls, lacks basic functionality, like listing starred contacts first, speed dial, widget for direct messaging a contact, etc. Calls to my voice number often aren't forwarded to my cell number properly. I have left in-app feedback to this effect numerous times over the course of years, to no avail. I've had Google Voice for 14 years -- it has not been improved at all; it is clear they just don't care about making it better.

Major issues with a pop-up if notifications are turned off that you have to continually dismiss over and over to the point that you cannot open the app and use it because the pop-up screen is in the way. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. Please report to your team so they can put a fix through. The app developer email is invalid.

I've used this for the voicemail features for years and recently moved to a different area code. I was able to add a local number and forward those calls to my original cell number, which has been great. My only complaint is that the texting functionality through my Google voice number and the Google voice app is seriously lacking, making the texting experience feel very neglected. It would be a huge upgrade if the voice dev team added Google messages type texting functionality.

Not too bad of an app actually. I just think that they should make it so that when it asks you what phone you want to use when you make a call it would let you use the device that's in your hands at the time, it forces this issue only SOMETIMES. Usually at the worst times it could do it though. Also for some reason it kept calling one of my friends over and over all by itself even though I wasn't logged in!

I am pretty new to this app, it has been working well for me, but it would be nice if it has a few features that other messaging apps have. The features that I mean are the ability to send multiple photos at once, being able to send videos and finally, being able to add emojis to messages: like button.
