Works as intended, and I have been very impressed with their customer service. Thanks, Grasshopper! As of April 2025, I've been having some issues with the app. It used to load right away when I opened it, but now it takes forever to load conversation history and sometimes doesn't work at all :(

I've been using GH for 2 yrs and really enjoyed up until they changed the mobile app. They got rid of the separate Messages tab and include SMS in Conversations that also include everything else. Not a good move on their part. They also added 2 factor authentication to sign into the desktop app which slows me down. I'm considering using the phone and messaging service from my FSM instead.

Cannot text properly. Sometimes you cannot hit the back button to go back to the list of all your chats. Also, you cannot search for anything in a conversation. It only searches for the contact name or the last thing said in a conversation, so its useless. App has mutliple functionality problems. And you cant get your number back once you swotch to grasshopper because its VoIP, and it cannot be ported back to google voice. Edit: years later, still can't port my number to another carrier. The latest update has made the app VERY slow, not user friendly. It takes a long time when I open the app to load msgs, and then when I click one, it takes a while to load that. Then, trying to get back to all messages from the text I just opened, it makes me wait for all messages to load again. Please fix it, it's really hard to use like this!

It's so clunky that it's practically unusable professionally. It takes forever for a call to ring through to my cell. My computer text chats keep getting wiped which means to pull up an older conversation I have to bring it up on my phone and punch in the phone number. No way to sort by "unread" which is a HUGE oversight. update 4/1/25 after the new update some chats won't even pull up on my phone, so some text chats just bug out and I can't see any previous messages period no matter the device

Update: slowness fixed - added a star. Updated search so that it is actually useful *thanks* (on android at least - windows app is still using the old "contact or last message" method that is useless). Web ui still doesn't include any way to read or respond to texts (not always able to install an app so the web ui should allow full messaging support). Please look at the Google voice android and web app. Then copy it. The UX/UX wheel does not need to be reinvented here. Thanks!

If you intend to use this number for texting and calling as I did for my business, look elsewhere. You will not be able to text/SMS. Their support does not know how to comply with new SMS regulations. You are better off getting a dual SIM phone for your business number. I was with them when since they were GotVmail. Their service and knowledge is terrible. What is worse it the horrific on hold music to support that will drive you insane.

overall not very good, I can't text someone when on a call or it hangs up, I can't search my messages, I can't even hit the end call button now, I think it will be good in a couple years but they're not pushing quality updates hardly ever. I want to like it but there is a lot of basic functionality missing.
