Very impressed! The app is similar to Duolingo (so if Duolingo works for you, you will probably like HelloChinese, as well), but with additional features that make it even better. You get hear and see real people speak Chinese and discuss the language, which made it a lot easier for me to learn the correct pronunciation, something I really struggled with when only using Duolingo. There is a paid version of the app, but the free version has been more than adequate, so far.

This isn't just the best Chinese app, it might be the best language learning app in general! Plus they team is so responsive to questions, they're great! My one suggestion is an opinion in the practice mode to get the English word first on the flashcards, I feel like it helps my memory more to have to think of the Chinese word than to have to think of the English word after I get the Chinese word

on Duolingo for over a year & found this app while uploading duo to new ph & decided it couldn't hurt since I was making slow progress with duo...this I love the direct translation from English to Chinese so I can see the sentence structure which is so different and helps me learn it better then just trying to memorize everything. thank you for providing another way to learn & free version is amazing! think I will be upgrading so I can ask questions to the teachers😘🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏

It gives lessons, with the way you pronounce, text, regonizing characters, meanings of words simplified and not simplified, and other important things for learning Chinese. I truly recommend this app if you want to learn Mandarin Chinese. And others I want to include is that you have streaks and you could also do plans in a section to practice your speech, memory and more. This is such good app and I love it and hope by 4 years I'll be fluently in Chinese

This is the perfect app if you want to learn Mandarin. It explains both characters and grammar, and makes it fun and easy to learn. One of the things I like the most is that it provides short stories and other reading materials, as well as videos of people speaking, to help you become fluent. Minus one star for not having the option to learn traditional characters.

It is a solid app to get started with but... There's a big issue I've been running into with the app that needs to be fixed before I can give it 5 stars. Answers to questions only have one choice! This is not possible with any sentence with 他 or 她。I've run into this issue multiple times, and would really confuse a new learner. It also happens for 在 and 正在，which the app clearly states are interchangeable. Even Duolingo can manage this (even though it's not the best for Mandarin) PLEASE fix this!

Still learning but the app is very interactive and gives you plenty of opportunities to critique your pronunciations and the live people in the app seem so very nice and I get a feeling that they genuinely want you to learn. Thanks to the HelloChinese team for your support, it's hard learning a new language and your team is AWESOME!!!

HelloChinese is an amazing app, I mean, I have been following Bussu app for a long time now and this goes overall in chinese lessons.You learn fast but at your own pass. The most incredible points are the microphone practice , which is the must difficult one to develop by others app, and the back-feeding which is the top of the iceberg in language learning.
