==========

The 1st App on Google Play Store to support Tesla App Mirroring feature.

TeslaMirror is an App that will help your Android App mirroring to Tesla vehicle!

For Tesla vehicle built-in browser
1 If possible, try to upgrade the Infotainment system of the Tesla vehicle to the latest version
2 Make sure the car is PARKED
3 The Tesla vehicle network must be connected to the Android device (the Android device to be mirrored, when multiple Android devices are available) mobile Hotspot first. Tesla MCU2/3 hardware is needed. MCU2/3 is available on the Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model X (late than March 2018), Model S (late than March 2018), or the Tesla vehicles that are upgraded to MCU2/3 from MCU1.
5GHz mobile Hotspot Wi-Fi network is preferred. Wi-Fi 6 AP is not supported by Tesla vehicle.
4 Start the TeslaMirror App. Confirm "Tesla Proxy" switch is on in the TeslaMirror App
5 Click the "Start" button to start Screen Broadcast in the TeslaMirror App
6 Access the link http://100.99.9.9:3333 via Tesla vehicle built-in browser
7 Enjoy the App streaming
8 No audio support for the moment. Only the screen will be mirrored to the browser. You can use the Bluetooth audio link to Tesla vehicle to support audio

FAQ
1 Netflix not supported

Warning and Legal Disclaimer: DO NOT IGNORE THE FOLLOWING - This service should only be used when the car is PARKED (0mph/0kph)! The use of this program may be restricted based on your local jurisdiction regarding the built-in web browser in your vehicle.

VpnService is needed for the app to operate normally.

Why does this TeslaMirror App need a VpnService?
About the need for VPN, it is mainly because Tesla car blocks all of the normal private LAN IP addresses(such as 192.168.*.*). So, the virtual IP address and VPN are used to bypass the Tesla network limitation. The VPN tunnel is not connected to any public server. For the VPN tunnel, one endpoint is the Android device to be mirrored, another endpoint is the Tesla car.

Is there any privacy issue with it?
There is a web server running on the Android device with a virtual IP address 100.99.9.9. This web server is not available for public Internet access. There are only Tesla car and the phone, no middle servers running on the Internet. There is no privacy issue with it.

The VPN is the core functionality of TeslaMirror application. Or else Tesla car's browser cannot connect to the web browser on the Android device.

This TeslaMirror VPN and app do not collect any user data and logs.

TeslaMirror application does not redirect or manipulate user traffic from other apps.

This app has a "Remote Control" feature that allows you to control your Android device remotely using a touch screen or mouse. In order to use this feature, you need to grant this app Accessibility permission. Without this permission, the "Remote Control" feature will not be available.

This app uses the AccessibilityService API to access the dispatchGesture and performGlobalAction interfaces. These interfaces allow the app to control your Android device remotely using a touch screen or mouse. This app does not collect any data through the AccessibilityService API. By using these interfaces, the app enables you to control your device from a distance, making it easier to use your device if you have difficulty reaching the screen or have difficulty using the physical buttons.

Seems to have limited usefulness. Can't get it to play videos from streaming sources such as HBO Max, Bally Sports, or Hulu. Does not work with Spectrum app. They play on my phone but not the screen. Works with YouTube. Disconnects audio from car in fullscreen mode. Concept was interesting enough to get me to take a chance at $6, but not sure I can recommend. Perhaps it will work better in the future but maybe the video sources are partly to blame. Should identify which streaming services work.

I tried it on my Pixel 5. It seems to work well with Youtube, Waze, and Google Map. Like other have said, it won't work with Netflix. I tried with Amazon Video. It didn't work neither. For $6, I'm happy to have a way to use Waze in my Tesla. UPDATE It freezes quite often. UPDATE2: it's been a while, and the app has no update for like 6 months.

Cannot function long term. Especially when driving. Browser force closes after a short term. Forced to constantly reopen and reconnect. Not worth it. Useless without the function to drive and use it. Was denied a refund even though this app is market as able to do what it says while in drive. False advertising. Buyer beware. Thus may have worked but it seems tesla has patched the ability to do this.

I rarely do any reviews, but this one deserves it. It does exactly what's on the description. Basically it creates a way to cast your screen to the browser in the Tesla. It almost like you are able to "mount" the phone screen on the Tesla monitor. Nothing fancy. Nothing more, nothing less. It worked perfect for what I needed.

TeslaMirror is working great for me so far. I have a Samsung S20, the browser window picked up my broadcasted address and mirrors the phone screen. There is a delay of a fraction of a second but that is to be expected and not a problem at all. I've just enjoyed a drive home, being able to view my home cameras on the tesla screen as I await a delivery. Now I just wish Tesla would let us move the browser app over the car visualisation, so we can have navigation and browser at the same time.

This works on my Model X Raven (2020). Is it perfect, no. Is it a hell of a lot better than nothing at all, yes. I am using FSD beta, and a lot of the issues that people are having stem from the fact that the CPU in the MCU is underpowered. Try to show a little patience and give it a roll. I also use TesAA because I think that the feature that it automatically starts the hotspot it's pretty convenient and you can actually run both of these side-by-side.

First app I've ever spent money on. As some users have stated before I am unsure of why the app has low ratings? App works very well on a 2023 model 3 Standard Range. Tesla, itself, seems to limit some functionality like full screen while in drive mode but videos still work in the browser window while driving. Video quality is good and audio syncs well with the videos. Pleasantly surprised by the app. I only wish the "Tesla Proxy" switch would automatically turn off after mirroring has stopped.

The app does exactly what it describes. Instructions are clear. You can fine tune the resolution, frame rate and image quality to find the balance between clarity and smoothness. The only disappointment was no audio when you went fullscreen. If you want to keep TeslaMirror on (wHy DiD iT fReEzE?) when you are driving, make sure your Tesla has "stay connected in drive" checked under the hotspot SSID. Dev clearly stated its limitations because of restrictions by Tesla OS. I hope people who left a negative feedback could spend a few minutes in the car and read the instructions.
