The HydroHome app gives BC Hydro customers tools and insights to track, understand and manage their home’s electricity use anywhere, anytime.

Features of the free app:
- Your whole home’s hourly energy use data up to the previous day.
- A breakdown of how your home uses energy.
- Insights and tips to help you save.
- Custom notifications based on your budget.

If you purchase a hub (optional) through the app, additional features are available:
- Real-time data that shows how much electricity your home’s using right now.
- Connect compatible smart home devices to see device-specific energy use.
- Control compatible smart home devices (lights, thermostats, plugs, etc.) all in one app.

With greater knowledge of your home’s energy use, you can take actions to save energy and money.

The HydroHome app is available to most BC Hydro residential customers. Hubs aren’t available to customers in apartment buildings due to limitations with the wireless technology.

Will not load. Just continues to show a rotating circle. I contacted them 9 days ago and still no help. Update; loaded the sept 9 update and same problem! It has now been a month and a half with no help. Fixed the above problem but now many things don't work. Difficult to turn things off or on. Smart actions don't work reliably. Can't delete smart actions. Data is not accurate. Talked to a manager a while ago but still many problems. If I had to pay for this app I certainly would not have it.

1. Lost control of all my thermostats and had to repair again with App. 2. It is very difficult to navigate to thermostat controls. the previous app had a much better interface. It needs to be a button on the bottom menu. 3. Usage individual thermostat not displaying any data. Just show 0 usage. 4. This app needs a major overhaul.

Since the update at the end of July, the thermostats no longer work correctly, along with data and connection issues. All of my schedules have been messed up, with individual schedules created for each day, resulting in a major time commitment to try and fix. Can't seem to adjust the temperature through the app, only on physical device now. App flow makes no sense and I'm constantly getting to the wrong screen. Absolutely driving me crazy and looking for something else to control thermostats.

Since they released the new version of the app at the end of July 2024,it does not show any new usage data. I've sent multiple emails to support and chatted with them about the issue. I was told that IT are too busy right now to fix it. It's been over a month now. Based on the reviews, many more people are having problems too. Edit: still months later and no contact or answers from bc hydro. I've used the chat, emailed and called. Complete Fail. EDIT OCTOBER 2024: IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!

Have been using the app for almost 3 years now. The first version had some shortcomings such as only setting the temp at 1 degree C intervals instead of 0.5 C and also not showing the outside Temp on Sinope thermostat. However, the update made it way worse. It actually does not work. Out of 5 thermostats only one of them follows the schedule. They are all connected and I can change their temp manually, but the schedule does not work. Reinstalled the app and thermostats, still not working.

A big pain having to recreate all my thermostat schedules. I had the old app, and when I signed in to this new app with my BCHydro account details, it did not pick up or properly show up all my TS schedule settings. I had to spend a lot of time deleting and recreating the vast majority of setpoints for my 3 Sinope thermostats. It showed there were scheduled events but they were blank, and I had about 40 settings per thermostat. I can't even tell if a setpoint is scheduled to be on or off.

I was hoping this app would have tier 2 comparison that we used to get on the website but no. Viewing consumption is cumbersome. Tap calendar, choose a date, tap save it and then you can see only that date. Could we simply scroll through the days please? Would it really be that difficult to implement this? I'm not sure what the app is trying to sell as an upgrade, but I doubt I need it.

After sign in, the app tries to load the home page/dashboard and then approximately 1 seconds later crashes to a grey screen that is unresponsive. Not worth the hassle to pursue troubleshooting on something that wouldn't even work once. Uninstalled.
