HOW TO GET FREJA eID

Download the app and create an account:

1. Choose country of your citizenship
2. Register an email address
3. Create a PIN of choice

Once you complete these three simple steps, you can start using Freja eID right away or add value to your e-ID by verifying your identity:

Our security centre will verify this information against the official records and notify you as soon as your identity is confirmed.

Not worth much without the + level, which you need for the stuff that actually matters, like making an online appointment for passport renewal or accessing other governmental services. As a Swedish citizen living abroad for more than 5 years, you can't get that, and the basic service is limited and, quite honestly, completely useless. Helt värdelöst utan Freja+, vilket inte går att få om man är bosatt i utlandet sedan 5+ år tillbaka.

As a foreign citizen you can only register with your coordination no even if you have a personnummer. Don't understand why. Tried to register for ID+ with my coordination no, the app tells me my identity level is too low, have to verify it at the tax agency. Happened to be at skatteverket that very day; the guy responsible for freja smiles at me with a "2.3 stars in the playstore" face and tells me that freja just doesn't work right. Not to mention the rampant transphobia of the Swedish system.

The NFC scanning of the passport document does not work. My device's NFC and my password chip is ok because it works properly in other apps

Broken. App currently won't allow me to get Freja eID Plus (the whole reason for even downloading the app) or where to go to confirm my identity within my region. The app is broken. No "Plus" button as promised, no functionality with 1177 beyond infinite loading screens, no ability to upgrade to "Plus" even within the web page. I liked that I could press my ID for musical notes, but I'd recommend just getting a piano app instead for that.

Phi Droid

I didn't even finish half the process of setting up this app (the multitude of validation steps). It's definitely burdensome, only to replace my identification card limited to a few situations. Update: I never said your product was anything else. But it simply does not have enough coverage to be functional, and would just be another rarely used app in my phone. However if eID one day could replace my driver's license completely? That's worth a second look.

I'm a swedish national living in Germany, Freja recommended by the German authorities for Swedish nationals as away get a German online ID by scanning my passport. However, at the very end of the tedious process (Swedish bank ID is so much smoother) I'm informed Freja does not support this if you dont live in Sweden 🫠 But why would I need a German e-ID unless I'm living/working /studying in Germany? Someone make it make sense.

You should change the behaviour to opt-in to the services using Freja eID instead of having to opt-out of them. Alt add a button to toggle / de-toggle all services so you can cherrypick services more easily to enable / disable. Also add the option to verify yourself using BankID would be great instead of scanning your driver's license / passport.

Trying to register my passport, but it gets stuck on the NFC part. Gets to reading passport data, then says connection was interrupted. And no, I did not touch the phone after it started reading data. And no, there are no covers on the phone or passport.
