I user to love the app and been using it for many years. Especially the offline maps are great. Unfortunately, no it is only possible to get one country for free and the rest by subscription. That was exactly why I loved and used the app. Using it for offline navigation in different countries, while driving and hiking. No I have to pay for it. It was outstanding and I recommended it to so many friends, now is just like any other. That's rather a reason for me to step away. Very disappointed!

This was a really great maps app back in the day and served me well as a free, easy, and offline OpenStreetMap viewer. Now it's been downgraded to one offline map, which also requires me to register for an account I neither want nor need. I need exactly zero of the features added over the recent months, and now you're restricting the only feature (offline maps) more and more that made me choose the app a few years ago. Moving on to Organic Maps for now until you folks get your priorities sorted.

This App used to be great. Now you are forced to login and have to pay for features that should be free like offline map downloads. Even if I login I will only be able to download 1 map. I am usually hiking on the border of countries where I will need both maps in offline mode because of no cell reception. I used to recommend this app to all my friends because of its features. All of those are now no longer available. And you contribute only 1000€ per month to OSM. Do better.

Best Map Layout for me. I am a bike traveller and map fetishist and this is the ultimate offline map for me and my purposes. In the very beginning around 2013 I liked maps.me, but they changed the colors so much that almost all roads are white and it's hard to see differences between small roads, major roads, side roads, paths etc.... In mapy.cz you see.directly which kind of.road you have and if it's tarmac, gravel, single trail etc... Loving it 👍👍👍

Somehow Mapy.cz just nailed the rendering, especially when using the app for the outdoors. Tracks are mostly clearly marked, the search function works very well, and the hill shading does a great job of conveying altitude. There is a major issue though: every time you switch apps, the app re-renders the entire view, which takes a few seconds and may lose any track or search item you had open.

The last update to 9.32.0 is terrible. One can no longer move stops around easily around. Okay, the response shows how to move the steps but this option is not very intuitive. Another problem: after selecting the steps and getting a route preview on the map there are still the options to select car/bike/walking plus the "navigate" button in the lower part of the screen. This takes up an unnecessarily big share of the screen. Thereby less than necessary screen space available for route preview.

I have tried and tested this application found it to be very good. Only reason I opt out from using this application is that it requires ridiculous large amount of storage space for the offline maps. Over 7 GB only for Germany in comparison to 8.5 GB for the WHOLE of Europe with map factor which also has a much better and clearer interface ! No option to download maps onto the card.

Good maps and very good and dependable offline functionality. Maps are NOT vetted and you should always get a second source or verify any routes for alpine routes or routes in unknown terrain (sometimes eg ridge climbs are included as hiking paths without any hint that a full trad rack or via ferrata set is needed). Would be cool to be able to pull a gpx track straight into the app without having to use the web sign-in.
