Only free app I've found that does offline VOICE translations. I have a prepaid phone account, so being able to perform offline functions is tantamount. Only caveat is that you have to download an additional language pack for the 2 languages you want to translate between offline. Mine was English - Spanish. If I want to talk to someone in Spanish, I just pull my phone out, record them, and WALAA! I understand what they're saying without having to be online! Sure, some other apps do that, but you have to PAY to use that feature on those apps. On this app it's FREE. Plus it has a ton of other important features, like most other translators, like translating pictures and text, all for FREE! Can't beat that with a stick!

I'm in love with this app. The examples provided are plenty. This is a very good tool for learning Russian! Для меня, reading many examples is much more effective than what other dedicated learning apps, such as Memrise and Duolingo, do. I just wish there were more easy-to-understand, relatable examples, though. I have nothing to complain about other than that.

As a person living abroad, this app has its pros and cons. It's quick and useful for translating images and instructions, but when it comes to actual conversations the result comes out somewhat awkward. I have learned enough Japanese (the language I use it for) to know that the results are just not quite what I need, but not yet enough to achieve everything myself 😅😅. I understand that Japanese is a very very difficult language to translate digitally, but in the end, there are better options.

Love Yandex and love this translator app. I do wish that there were a few features though - It would be so helpful to have a toggle or an option that could let me express in the Russian ты or the вы. It goes on context, but sometimes it is wrong. I would like to be able to tell the app that I would prefer one voice over the other (either because I talk to a friend or because I talk to a group). I can go through and change it, but it isn't convenient. It would also be so helpful to have a toggle for who the "I" is in the text. The default is to the male voice, particularly in past tense, and I would like to be able to write an "I past tense" sentence with a female voice, so a toggle back and forth for that would be equally helpful and useful. It's still far superior to the google translator because it's made by people who understand the context of the language - at this point I'm using it for speed and ease of translation (as well as a bit of laziness in making my own sentences).

Very useful app. It saves favorites, has phrase collection. No ads. The camera does work, but sometimes stops my background music. Haven't tried the voice input, wish it had more voice options, and I tried installing other voices but kind of messed it up. Idk what I'm doing, and I'm sure it's my phone. I think my built in tts is just confusing. Otherwise it seems accurate, I know not all translations are exact, so it's a matter of finding the right words. Useful for русский. спасибо яндекс

really great. translates a lot better than Google translate did. it explains differences between the nearly similar words when looking through the translation dictionary. it could pick up foreign words that were being spoken quickly, where i couldn't make out what consonants they were even beginning the words with. the translations' voice sounds like a natural voice. and it gives the option to repeat a pronunciation slowly, which is great for trying to learn. i really love this app

For translations from/to Russian or any Slavic language, it has no rivals; Google/Bing don't even come close. It's a great tool for learning Russian language, as it gives the examples of the words along with their roots. For other languages, it is as good as Google/Bing, although it does not have as wide a selection as the other two.

I really love this translator! The best translator I've ever used! 100x's better than Google Translator! In fact all Yandex apps are 100x's better than Google apps! I will never go back. I love how if I want to translate Finnish, I dwnld Finnish-Russian offline regardless of what language I want to translate back to, whereas with Google you download the actual language you most use! That I think is the best way. Just all around, Yandex beats them all..best developed apps!
