Voice Access helps anyone who has difficulty manipulating a touch screen (e.g. due to paralysis, tremor, or temporary injury) use their Android device by voice.

Voice Access provides many voice commands for:
- Basic navigation (e.g. "go back", "go home", "open Gmail")
- Controlling the current screen (e.g. "tap next", "scroll down")
- Text editing and dictation (e.g. "type hello", "replace coffee with tea")

You can also say "Help" any time to see a short list of commands.

Voice Access includes a tutorial which introduces the most common voice commands (starting Voice Access, tapping, scrolling, basic text editing, and getting help).

You can use the Google Assistant to start Voice Access by saying "Hey Google, Voice Access". To do this, you’ll need to enable "Hey Google" detection. You can also tap either the Voice Access notification or a blue Voice Access button and start talking.

To pause Voice Access temporarily, just say "stop listening". To disable Voice Access completely, go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Access and turn off the switch.

For additional support, see Voice Access help.

This app uses the AccessibilityService API to help users with motor impairments. It uses the API to collect information about the controls on the screen and activate them based on the user’s spoken instructions.

Could be an amazing, but falls short. Does NOT allow for hands-free mobile computing. Not a true accessibility tool as described. It will get you 90% of the way there on a task, and then hit a wall. Oddly, it doesn't play well with other Google apps. For instance, using it to navigate and search Play Store was a pain. In short: lots of potential, but overall it feels like a half-finished afterthought. Would like to see some meaningful attention given to accessibility features.

This app is extremely frustrating. You get stuck every 30 seconds with no way out other than using your hands. Completely useless. I kind of expected that it would not work as one would think. But it's much worse. Example: I managed to open Google docs and create a new document. But it was completely impossible to get it to type anything. And when navigating, it does not understand some English numbers for some strange reasons.

Initially using voice access is cumbersome. It's a great app. I'm in the car a lot and would prefer to use my voice to do activities on my phone. However, at this time the Voice access could not perform any.Google related features. When I'd ask her to do things she'd answer that she could not help with Google Mail, or anything Google. Once the bugs are worked out, and this app runs smoothly, it will be a very effective tool.

I truly love this app. The app downloaded and opens easily. Shortcut displays on my home screen. The problem is... It activates constantly and listens to every word I say and types all of it on my screen. This is not cool, especially when it's a private conversation I'm having with a potential client at my place of employment. After the app did this 3 days in a row and would not stop listening when I promoted it to do so, I'm deleting it from my phone after I submit this review. Using a Pixel.

There's a bug with Voice Access on Android 15 (Samsung A55, One Ul 7). After turning Voice Access off, the green microphone indicator stays on. It only disappears after restarting the phone. Please fix this in the next update. Thanks.

everything is messed up totally. My photos look like negatives, icons are black and white I have difficulty with my vision and everything is too light. DID NOT NEED AN UPDATE!! Had my phone like I needed it , will probably get this one turned off and old one turned back on.

Too much to learn and I'm feeling like I have to study and go over multiple tips and tricks several times before I halfway comprehend what it is to help me to retain for future use and a smoother experience when on The phone. A visual representation with step by step breakdown, simple and easy explanations needs to be included helping people like me enjoy learning these tools and tricks and less known features that'll help for an optimal experience to get to enjoy the cool perks!

I use this now than anything Else on my phone I use it to text which comes in really handy when I need to say a long message or when I am driving. I hate texting and driving. I will literally have to pull over to do it but now I can just voice my text into my phone and even say word send, I'm now wondering if there's a way to have my text from other people read out loud to me from my phone and that I can use this app to reply to them... Food for thought... I guess I'll have to see about that .
