Hi, I started this project after leaving Reddit and being dissatisfied with the current Lemmy apps. I wanted a browsing experience similar to what I was used to and I hope others who are in a similar situation will enjoy Connect for Lemmy.

The best of the lemmy apps I tried. I do have a couple issues. When switching between apps, I frequently encounter just a black screen when switching to connect. Navigation like the back buttom still works but nothing is rendered. If I switch to another app then back to connect, it returns to normal or refreshes. The app does also get a bit memory greedy if you scroll too long and sometimes needs to be closed and reloaded.

I'm liking it so far! It definitely needs some development. One minor thing that i've noticed is that the download button for images and media puts them in my downloads folder, and then the only way to find them to share on other platforms is to go to my file explorer. I've just been screenshotting things instead. Also there are a few typos in the settings, "effect" should be used instead of "affect" when using it as a noun

Great set of features, but there are some bugs. Votes often don't stick. Gestures are too sensitive, and it's way too easy to accidentally save when I meant to upvote. Switching accounts makes my home feed disappear temporarily. Weird things happen on refresh. The app looks chunky sometimes when scrolling. Voyager, a PWA, runs a lot smoother for me, but I hope they iron out the kinks in this one because I like the feature set more. More customization on themes & gestures would be nice.

This app seems like it's off to a really good start, but is missing some functionality to make it even kind of useful for me. Not having a good option to choose what you're seeing on your "front page" or an explanation of what the default is is basically a deal breaker. I will say it works a lot quicker than jerboa does, and looks a bit nicer, but the themes don't affect the whole app in the way I would hope. I'd love to see this developed further, it seems like it's moving in a good direction.

Very easy to use, the developer is super easy to reach with feedback. Users are generally literate and friendly, with many support/beginner resource communities that also respond fast with detailed help. Really impressed with the upgrades to reporting posts, images loading and fixing bugs. Rapidly growing alternative to Spezville. Sweet freedom, feels good, man.

Can't adjust my volume when I open the app. I have to switch to my home button or another app just to adjust my volume on Android (Google Pixel 4). It automatically plays YouTube videos in the app. I can't get it to open them in YouTube's app. It won't actually let you block communities if you're not logged in. It just pretends to block it. Otherwise the experience is good.

Typing on this has degraded since the prior update, specifically comments. My keyboard seemingly resets after every letter, briefing showing capital letters, then remembering it's actually in the middle of a message. This hiccup after every entry into the comment field makes it so if you type too fast it doesn't register. Edit: You also can't send PMs to other users.

Pretty close to RIF but local downloads of images don't actually work. Edit: Settings seem to get reset every time the app updates as well, which is a bit frustrating. Would rate lower except it is becoming my daily driver for lemmy, so a bit of a love/hate thing going on. Also please make the settings automatically save when toggled, it's a bit frustrating to change like 9 items and then hit back and realize you didn't hit save.
