Useless piece of malware. Demands access to phone, camera, contacts(why???), location and storage right off the bat. Asks for device model then bugs you nonstop until you allow it to enable bluetooth and as expected finds nothing because mine is wifi only. And I just wanted to turn off the deafening beeps it makes because there doesn't seem to be any way to do it other than through the app. I'd probably have better luck physically removing the beeper than trying to make this junk work.

The purifier is awesome, but the app is pretty useless. When I'm not at home, I get notifications about the air quality exceeding pm2.5, but can't see the device nor graph in the app. No numbers on vertical axis, only a line in green, yellow or red (which are also not color blind friendly). Missing data on many hours of the day, maybe it's the time I'm away from home, but I have no idea as the time axis is not in my time zone. Sometimes disconnects the device, but this is the smallest problem.

Asks for excessive permissions every time app is opened. Why would an Air purifier need access to contacts, photos, files and music? Graph doesn't show. Maybe because access to files are denied, but any other normal app is able to store such things in it's own sandbox without global access, so if that's the reason it's just a sloppy excuse to peak around on your phone...

It's frustrating that the date and time are incorrect for users - I am in the UK yet the air quality history shows the current time about 7 hours ahead of the actual time. The history also does not show any values for the y-axis (pm2.5 value) which would be nice to quantify changes over time. Controlling and reading my device in real time all work perfectly, however

I can't connect the smartmi purifier 2 even though I was able to connect it perfectly to the Xiaomi app after. I wanted to use the smartmi app so I could connect it to Google home, and check if there was a way to trigger scenes from the TVOC level, but the app doesn't even recognise there is a reset smartmi device when it's in connection mode.

This used to work with Google Home, but for the last 6 months or so won't connect with the service, which defeats my original plan of having my humidifier set up with other automation systems in my house. Constant login error.

Wish I read the reviews of the app before buying the device. Managed to pair it without any problem, but the account and device management in the app is hopelessly bad. Not getting any historical data, at all. Hopefully Home Assistant can grab it...

Way too few purifier models compatible with this. I don't have the login issues although I have other issues: despite the region set to Europe air quality graph shows a different timezone on the time of day axis.
