I just wanted to read local news. Subscrimet for monthly membership. I can see my subscription in the list, but still can't read the articles. Making the subscription process clear and smooth should be a top priority. I'll have to look for another news app.

Absolutely forever and a year HOPELESS. There is rarely actual news and the search function is a Monty Python brain riddle mess bringing you nowhere! A disastrously designed non-news blog-app which never gets improved. Save yourself the aggravation and read online on Google.

I plan to move to Sweden in a couple of years. I love The Local! It educates me in Swedish culture and language as well as provides me with all of the current events. I am able to have intelligent conversations with my friends in Sweden about the news of the day. Sweden is beautiful and so is The Local ❤️

When the new website launched with a font that hurt my eyes, I had to give up on The Local - it's a shame they didn't do more accessibility testing. Then I remembered the app. Which is far easier on my eyes! Unfortunately there's not the same range of articles within the app as the website, but better than nothing. 30/6/2023 - I was really excited to see that more articles would be available on the app! Only they've rolled it out with the same font. And no dark mode or accessibility options :(
