The fact that a network connection is necessary to start the app is a blocker for me. I have downloaded some magazines but I can't read them when I am offline! Also, when the app start it should always restore the previous state instead of bringing me back to the frontscreen.

I'm a new user after Kindle stopped supporting magazines. Overall Zinio gets the job done. However, I do have one bug and 2 suggestions. The bug is that the screen timeout is not working with the settings for my phone. If you are reading as you go to bed and fall asleep, the screen stays on all night. The two suggestions that Kindle did better 1) To have a lock screen rotate option in the app. 2) Add a text view option, similar to the Kindle format, reads like a book.

Store is great with wide variety of mags but app is a mess and has been ever since they introduced updated version a year or so ago. App is full of bugs, is unstable (especially if trying to read offline), and can be hit and miss with downloads and opening mags requiring reboots which makes for inconsistent and frustrating experience. Updated: Increased rating as for most part issues have been resolved. Still has some random crashes especially when offline but generally pretty stable now.

The latest update is a mess. My entire family (multiple accounts) have lost access to their subscriptions. Six different devices cannot connect through apps OR browsers... EXCEPT the cell phones through mobile data with WiFi explicitly off. Well, that's not happening. While losing precious breaths of life scrolling through support, I found that our archived issues are offline until further notice. Bye-bye. Wonder what the competition is like?

App works fine so that gives them 2 stars. It could have been a lot more but I received no email warning of subscription renewal before it happens (a weeks notice would have been nice) therefore I was charged full price for 6 month subscription to a magazine. I was fully prepared to subscribe again but was going to look at using a discount price, and if i couldn't find one maybe I would have subscribed anyways as I like the magazine. I can't stand services that are not up front and honest with their customers about upcoming charges with them just hoping we don't notice the charge. Well Zino loses out then as I could have been a loyal customer. Instead they angered me and will get a negative review. Hopefully they will listen and start sending out simple reminder emails about subscription renewals (but they probably will not as it will be more profitable for them to keep charging members this way)

The app completely stopped working on my Galaxy S10 phone. Support sent me an email and I've tried everything suggested to make it work again (all to no avail) . I will consider changing my review when I can access my magazines on my phone again. EDIT - 4/18/22 - I have been able to use the app again for some time but I am constantly plagued by issues that require me to logout and log back in to fix. This causes the downloaded magazines to be deleted and then you have to re-download. 1 star...

With TEXT reading mode the text can finally be viewed by those with poor eyesight - thanks. But each new release fixes one bug & creates another. When you drag the page in TEXT reading mode it often misinterprets a drag gesture as a single tap and displays the title at top of screen & settings at bottom of screen - mentioned by at least one other reviewer. Final long standing bug - whenever display is turned off/ back on, or apps switches, or orientation changes, the current page is scrolled back to top; and the position is lost. Did you know the Zinio app shares the same codebase with the RBDigital app; both have the same UI bugs. Why during library magazine checkout does the RBDigital webpage say Zinio has merged with RBDigital?
