Took me a while to figure out how to set this up, but that's no surprise given its flexibility in handling a wide variety of devices. Documentation isn't perfect, but you can get most of your answers from examples and forum discussions . Ed. 2019Mar: 2 years and still going strong.Upgrades to OpenHAB and its bindings and extensions can kill things. You'll need from forums, documentations, and other users experiences to fix, upgrade, or workaround. HABPanel helps you do away with this app for most practical purposes, The review is about the whole of OpenHAB and not just this app.

Well thank you for the prompt and professional reply but IMHO in this case the end result in the application doesn't make for a compelling argument for following the material design rules. Updating my review for Ver2.10.3: It's still a great app but why did you have to mess with the color of the buttons? What used to be solid colors became a pale shading with solid borders and with a slightly darker font. That's not great at all and I prefer the older scheme. Great companion for OH server. I just wish for the addition of right control carets from the basic UI because it's difficult to differentiate when pressing an icon can open a new frame.

OpenHAB is a fantastic home automation system. Finally I have control over everything and don't have a cloud this or data collection that or device that connects to China. The learning curve is steep but it's well worth it. Thanks for your hard work OpenHAB devs. I'm also really happy to see support for multiple sites finally land in the app!

Has been working fine for over a year (though sometimes took multiple attempts before successful connection), however now it launches, connects to server and promptly displays a black screen where it remains until I exit the app. Rinse. Repeat. Everything works fine from the web interface, and I have made no changes to UI. Unsure if app issue or OH issue (running the latest stable build).

The setting to use svg icons is missing. It used to be there. It is on the iOS app. I use svg icons and now they don't work when switches are used. The icons don't change state anymore. It turns out it is the data saver option that stopped the refresh of the icons. All good now. I have 2 identical phones and one worked and the other didn't and now i know why. Data saver! Thanks for the help. It was the data saver on the phone setting and not the data saver on the app!

Good app, works as expected. I'd however add an authentication layer (PIN or fingerprint) as typically people expose so much of sensitive control over their houses and anyone who has access to the phone can use it (obviously after inserting password first but this is assumed to happen once and get stored in the app data)

Was good. Update introduced a bug in the setpoint widgets. For a setpoint widget with step=0.5, if the widget has a current value with a fraction, e.g. 14.5, the widget behaves correctly. But, if the current value is a whole number, e.g. 14, then the list of values are displayed as integers with each value twice, e.g. 13,13,14,14,15,15 etc., i.e. 14.5 is displayed as 14. Also, the up arrow increments by 1, and the down arrow doesn't work. Fixed - All good now, thanks!

Simple app for accessing OH's sitemap-driven "Basic UI". I.e. you must go through the steep learning curve and labor intensive process of installing OH, configuring it to work with your devices, authoring a sitemap and connecting your OH insurance to the myopenhab cloud service before this app will do anything useful. Its utility even then is minimal given its lack of a rich set of native widgets, notifications etc. The OH cloud features are also subject to extreme latency that affects this app.
