Update: 2 years later it's getting better with AAOS. It's now on par with what it was on the original Sensus. Original: It was a great app while my car had Sensus. It had a few bugs but gave alot of info. Now my replacement car has Android Automotive and it's near pointless. I can't check the location, it won't show drive logs, I can't view the car info (mileage, vin, average mpg etc). It's a huge downgrade!

Oopsie again. My boosted rating lasted a mere couple of days so now we're back down to a 2. The summary data is now just plain wrong. The trip info from the app is not the same as what I see in the car. Shucks. I'm holding out hope that some day, ALL the bugs will be smashed from this once glorious app.

I've had repeated trouble keeping my phone connected with this app. We regularly have to fall back to the physical keys, which makes the app pointless. I shouldn't have to re-pair after Volvo updates the app I shouldn't need to get the VIN to re-pair. Pairing to use my phone as a key shouldn't silently fail if I already paired my new phone for music. The pairing process shouldn't be referencing things that aren't on the screen it told me to navigate to. The whole process is woefully untested.

Update: Car status and location seems to update although sometimes one needs to exit and reopen app. It would be nice to be able to turn on lights remotely. Charging log is always blank, regardless of where I've charged. There's no record of it. ... The app does not update car status or location, most of the time, even forcing it off and restarting it. Very poor performance. Why?

This app has very limited functionality in comparison to other car manufacturers . So far I really like the car (loaded XC60). However, Google entertainment and this app. was rushed to market and not ready. For the amount of money you ask for your vehicles we as customers expect a high level of quality from your products hardware and software. Volvo from the software side you can do better. I have been in corp. for over 30 yrs and you will lose your customers if you don't fix your problems.

The app is basically a remote dashboard. In addition to maintenance needs, if any. The remote start option is nice but falls short because the climate can't be controlled. My biggest disappointment is the apparent removal of the remote lock/unlock function. It was convenient when I needed to let someone use my vehicle and leave my keys inside. Anyway, Volvo cars is an app I wouldn't pay money for.

This app is a disappointment. I can't believe that Volvo does not have resources to built such basic app without bugs. It is just negligence and irresponsible attitude to its customers. I bought an XC90 Recharge. The % charged on the app is always just random! It shows 0% when it is fully charged, next time you open the app it shows 62%, and it says 3 mins to fully charged. A minute later it shows 14%. This is ridiculous. The charge itself constantly goes to red light Interrupted...

The functionality of this app is horrible and getting worse. After losing the ability to send a destination to the car quite a while ago, then about 6 months ago I started getting a message that it can't do anything with the car because the car is in use although I'm sitting in the car and it isn't even running, now the app won't even let me sign in.
