I find this app absolutely horrible. I have a wemo switch that I have been trying to program for about two weeks now. Can't seem to get it to work, no matter what I do, reset, factory restore. This was a new Wemo switch, never used before. I have three other switches and a plug, all of which I have had difficulty setting up, but was able to do so with those. Totally disappointed!

Never worked well, since 2019. I had the app and "smart" plug (more like dumb) it was always hit or miss. It doesn't connect and then after a month or two, it shows up. Whether on iPhone or Android, it is such a pcolito pair it. It falls off of the app, and I'd have to spend hours resetting it, plugging it, connecting, and when it says connected, I go back to the app and it says "unavailable". That goes on and on and on. I 've had wyze for 2.5 years, which didn't cause me any trouble.

It keeps disconnecting from the wifi, and it's hard to reconnect it, not sure why it doesn't remember the network... My other switches are Kasa and in the 6yrs I've had them, there has been no issues. This one keeps loosing connection with the network at least 2xs per year and it's a struggle to connect it ... I'm done! I'm throwing it as far as my arm can throw and sticking to KASA..

Appalling lack of instructions on getting devices to work...particularly Motion. Recognises motion, but does nothing. Does it need to be paired with a switch? Then HOW? Where's the damn instructions? Don't say on the Web site coz they're NOT! Great idea poorly executed. 12/2/2015....no better. Far too hard to set up. December 2024.... no longer connects at all after last update. Still no instructions.

I have version 1.30.0 and now the latest issue is the smart switches are not keeping a stable connection to the app. The frustrating part is that when I remove and add them, setup goes through but once added to available switches, toast, won't do anything and only offers to remove or hide. All my Wemo switches and plugs can't connect to the app or Google Home. Dumping these for TP-Link smart switches as soon as I can get my hands on them.

It used to work years ago and as of this time last year, it worked. But now I can't even connect to the device to connect it to Internet. It just won't go past that screen. Now I have a new plug that's not usable because the application is garbage. Asked me years ago up to last year, I would have told you this is the best out there. But now, it's pointless hardware now that 1.30.0 is trashed!

Like MANY other reviewers, almost all of my Wemo devices are greyed out and listed as "Not Detected" in the app. For the ones that are detected, they are super slow to respond and sometimes they switch to grey "Not Detected" after you try to turn them off or on. All my Wemo devices are connected just fine to wifi (they show up in my router's device list). Ironically, my Google Home smart speaker can turn them on just fine but my Amazon Echo can't turn them on if the Wemo app doesn't see them.

12/2024 update: Wemo definitely fixed their instability issues in 2020 or so. Haven't had a problem in years. Very stable and reliable. Old models don't integrate with Smart Life, however. 12/2021 I've been pleasantly surprised over the past 6 months to year that my Wemo devices and the app have been online and reliable. Only once or twice lately have I seen problems reported in other comments. Improvements are noticeable. Upgraded to 5 stars and I would recommend now.
