Unable to proceed with the setup process. It stuck at the allow for nearby device discovery. After click on allow, the setup just halted. Unable to proceed with the rest of process. Very frustrating. Pls fix it!!! Update (Solution found) I have managed to fix it. It turns out there is a way to get it to work but not as Google wants it to be.

Connectivity is the most essential requirement for a earphone. These buds would have been great if only google would have tested the connectivity properly. It is not expected that such an expensive earphones with earlier claim that the connection will work across the room and as far as a football ground. It is not able to maintain the connection with 2-3 feet and break frequently while listen music and even more while calling or running and sudden turns. I still want to use google buds if google can fix these connectivity issues but I am afraid it might not be possible and I need to wait for the launch of another version in near future. (I have latest version of firmware and app, and these are my second buds after the first one were changed by google and still have the same issue.)

I finally gave in and bought some and they're pretty good. I've had some issues with the sound reverting to mono but restarting my phone fixes that. The latest whine is the app no longer showing separate charges for the buds and the case - just 1 charge value. Also it's no longer possible to switch between noise cancelling, transparent and off. That's 3/4's of its usefulness gone. Now I can only swap between on and transparent: off is no longer available. Thanks for nothing.

Okay, so I revised my review, but this is a bug and should probably be fixed. I had to reinstall the app and forget the device, but I have the features back, it wasn't properly detecting them as pixel buds I believe, so this should be fixed. 4(edit, 3) Stars, can be changed to 5 if check notifications by hold button is added back. I now must add that ANC control doesn't work at all, which is especially inconvenient when just wearing left bud, which is set to assistant. Decreased to 3 stars.

I had issues and did an RMA for buds pro 2. This fixed them. However now I have new ones seemed to be app related. Sometimes one touch play and pause won't work. Sometimes taking earbud out will stop playing, other times not. Occasional problems with one ear not playing audio. These issues don't happen on Google TV playback so it must be the app. Get it together, Google! I'm on a Pixel 9 and still doesn't work as advertised!

Sound is great, but they keep unpairing or just stopping when I am on other apps, especially Instagram. I literally can't use my phone for anything but listening to music during my commute without having to hit play multiple times. Google says this can be fixed through "software updates", so hopefully that's the case.

Why remove the touch & hold reading notification option suddenly is something that's beyond my understanding. It was such a crucial feature that me along with a ton of other people used. Saying "read my notifications" now is annoying and doesn't always work. Plus, its only for messages whereas the earlier one could read other notifications as well, like livescores, binance and so on. Google, please bring back this feature!

App don't work on pixel 9 fold. I don't have any of the options I'm supposed to have. Ironically, it works find on my one plus 8, but as I upgraded from that phone it's no use at all to me. This is my first pixel device, it's just the worst experience all round. I have tried all the fix's online, resetting the buds pro 2, rebooting phone in safe mode and every variation of forget device and re pair with and without app updates.
