Overall good app, but Preply tells me that I'm going to lose the money I gave them in advance, instead of letting me keep it as a credit. Very bad system for the user + doesn't make sense for them financially (everybody wants money in advance). Overall their booking / subscription system is bad. They should let us buy and use credits as we wish (standard procedure). Good point however for changing the time zone when traveling.

Don't get sucked into the subscription classes!! I have been using the platform for a few months and was really happy. However, I went on holidays for a couple of weeks and had cancelled my classes for which I would miss. When returning I learnt that these hours I had cancelled would not be rolled over and have "expired." I spoke with customer service and they couldn't do anything. Don't understand how you can pay for a service that is not honoured. Recommend for people to go elsewhere.

I keep getting annoying notifications. Since they can't be turned off individually, I have to turn off all notifications including lesson reminders. To schedule a lesson, I am forced to start a subscription. Email notifications can't be turned off. No calendar feed, I have to give Preply *full access* to my Google calendar to see the lessons there. This whole app is like an open beta.

I've experienced so many issues with the app and website. Either my paid classes aren't being scheduled or I'm being double-charged. I've contacted customer support several times over the past few months and each time the person hasn't actually read my concern and sent a pre-written response that has nothing to do with my issue. After much effort to finally get them to read my initial issue, I'm usually told that everything looks fine on their end. This has happened several times!! Booo Preply!!

The online meeting features could be better. For example, my camera's video and my tutor's video is always stuck at the bottom left corner. This blocks the content or captions of videos. Please add a feature where we can hide our camera videos like zoom. Please give us a feature to edit our messages too like WhatsApp. Still, The app platform has been sleek and clean so far. I also want to shoutout for customer support Mr Yahya who helped me get a refund for my unused lessons! Pls promote him!

Good app for whatever you want to learn, whether it be learning a foreign language or help with schoolwork. The only downside is if you sign up for more than one lesson with the same tutor, you will automatically be enrolled into a subscription and be charged a monthly amount. They also won't stop subscription renewal - you have to physically go into Settings and cancel your subscription, but you won't get your money back.

I started learning on duolingo, which turned out to be entirely useless. This app puts you in touch with genuine native speakers and teachers and can be done across the world when needed. I wish I had found it sooner. You can dictate the number of lessons you have per week and get to choose the instructor. The lessons are done over video calls, with the instructor able to share screens and learning material as needed. Spend as little or as much as you want to learn at the pace you want.

The concept is great, but the execution is a bit rough. You may find a tutor at a great price, and then they want to increase 5x, and in USD, it is too much for a Canadian. Also, if you don't use your lessons, you only get to keep 3 to move onto the next pay period. Overall, after the price and quality, it's more worth it to have a real in-perosn tutor. Fairly upset about wasting over $100.00.
