Can I rent more than one bike at once?
Yes, you can rent up to 5 bikes at once! Just make sure to select the correct number of vehicles right at the beginning of your booking process.
Can I leave the bike anywhere?
No. We work hard with the cities to keep the streets clean and accessible for everyone. Please return your Donkeys to specific drop-off locations when you are done for the day.
What if I have issues?

HOW PRICING WORKS 💰
Just Ride (Pay as you go)
With no strings attached. Just Ride is ideal for trips from 15 mins to a few hours. You can also top up your Donkey Wallet with money and we will give you bonus credit that you can use for Just Riding.
Day Deals
In some cities, we have rolled out day deals which are great for when you just need a bike for the 1,2,3, or up to 7 days. Visiting for a weekend or inspired to explore like a local when you're on vacation? This is the perfect solution for you or a guest visiting you.
Monthly memberships
With a Donkey membership, you pay a fixed monthly fee and get a certain amount of free time per day. If you exceed the included daily free time, your rental is extended for a low fixed cost. Ideal for the daily commute and for a busy city life with multiple errands throughout the day. Valid in all Donkey cities.

After using it a week, the app works decently well. First time rental needs to be clearer. There are bugs when (un)locking bikes (may be related to doing it with multi bikes). Bluetooth connection is slow. GPS is not always accurate. Quite annoying that it needs to reserve the current day's sum from the bank before returning the previous day's sum. I don't understand why it can't just reserve in incremental sums. Hard to get human customer support. Cheapest bike rental for long stays (5+ days).

After having a lock issue in the night of a weekend, I was charged for the whole time they took to solve my issue, as if I was responsible for not locking my bike (when it was reported 3 times) and leaving it as it is for 24-36hours. I will not fight over 10-20€ with a bad customer service, but here is my experience. Also, very poor control of your own data, you cannot delete anything by yourself. This might be a good app but I'm not happy with it and will definitely not recommend it to others

It starts by showing you the bikes locations and only then you can go through the registration and payment method selection, including Paypal 👍. Easy to lock and to unlock when you want to make a stop. There are some issues with the lock compatibility. While the tech service was very helpful in resolving this issue, the app itself was rather confusing when I tried to end the rental, suggesting that I should move the bike, even if I told it was locked.

WORSE experience ever! I rented 2 bikes during few days in Vienna. at the end of the rental we locked the bikes as requested before the end of the rental period (there was a countdown via the app). According to the company, the biked were nowhere to be found. So what happened? They charged us 120 euros for something we didn't do. If you are looking to rent bikes, I recommend you to look for a DIFFERENT company! (N.B they recently deleted their Google My Business, obviously they try to control their "good" image)

Bikes dont get reshuffled enough and most of them are in bad condition (f.e. wheels loose, tires near empty, handlebars crooked etc.) And god forbid your phone loses signal or gps when you try to return a bike, they will take 15€ for a relocation fee even though you still ended rental at the drop-off point. Also drop-off locations can change with a whim so you never know if the location you've used for 3 months doesn't even work anymore. If your bike breaks mid-journey, there is a 180€ max fee.

Bad experience. When I wanted to drop it I was informed that the nearest drop off point was 10 min walk and it was freezing at 2 degrees outside. Instead I dropped it at exactly the same spot that I picked it up where it had plenty of space. They charged me 2 euros for "relocation" fee. Are you serious?

Just used for a day in Amsterdam and was very satisfied with the whole experience! Not all bikes are in great condition but it's easy to swap if you find any issue, provided there are more bikes available. Only complaint is that bike availability is not amazing, could be improved.

2024-06-01 I have used the service for a week and I had no issues then once the app was not able to terminate the bike rent, probably due to a technical issues with the bike closing mechanism but I am not sure. I had to use another rental service because it took a few hours to terminate the rent. They said I would have been refounded "soon", but it never arrived. It was 3/4 euros, so not a real problem. EDIT 2024-09-20 Today I have received the 3/4 euros back!
