It's a great app with no adds .👍 *But it was better when it used google earth topical maps to see how a quake relates to the Kermidic trench for example. *Also it should automatically show all and let people decide if they want to see less. Otherwise to a sceptic (who doesn't know to reset it to show all), it looks like geonet are trying to hide some EQs. *Be more honest. For eg when a EQs depth is unproven = ○ hollow dot. location debatable = 《●》put double brackets around the dot.

I've had this app for a number of years not just on my phone but on my computers as well. Aside from the fact that we have very few apps to choose from on this title it is very good and I rate it very highly indeed. My only criticism would be that their is no coverage in the event if a tsamuni. Otherwise I highly recommended that everyone have this on their phones and computers. In the country that we live and the events we have had, you'd be a fool not to.

It keeps saying location unavailable so I can't report earthquake. All location settings are on on app and phone?

Just dropped some stars because notifications have just stopped working. No changes to settings, set to moderate and above. Major quake today didn't even trigger notification. Now I need to keep dropping stars. I am not getting notified about any significant earthquakes that happen at all. I am still getting notified for small earthquakes

Great app and service but I'm unhappy with the current notification rule settings. We can have wishy-washy weak, moderate etc in a region OR specify a magnitude/depth everywhere. Seems we cannot say eg notify all 4+/any depth in Wellington region. Also I too would rather have a few falsies than wait for a duty officer to vet things.

A great way to get alerts and notifications about earthquakes and volcanic events in New Zealand. GeoNet provides a great service. The app doesn't operate perfectly, but it's very good, and there's always their website, which has more information, eg, about older earthquakes etc.

Never had any problems with the app - as long as you know data on recent quakes will change until final values are ascertained and don't get all worked up about a 7.2 becoming a 6.8 etc, it's an invaluable and reliable source of instant quake info!

Used to be excellent. Earthquake alerts haven't worked in a long time. Doesn't appear to be actively maintained anymore. Alerts are even more unreliable. Really needs someone to pull their thumb out and fix it.
