Could not get this to work. Option one: scan QR code. This requires me to print it or have a second screen to display the QR code on. Not friendly for solo travelers with just a phone. Option two: enter order number - this didn't work. Tried repeatedly but it just said the number was invalid or expired. Instead it should allow upload of ticket PDF from my phone to scan QR. Better yet, remove verification of ticket purchase all together - unnecessary point of failure.

Terrible app, barely functional. Forces you through the multi-step initialization process after each time you use a different app (eg: camera). It's really sluggish, locks up, the audio controls are unresponsive. Drains your phone's battery. And no it's not "free" since getting to Pompeii is not cheap, and there is very little signage in the park.

Better then other reviews suggest and really adds to the experience. The app wouldn't let me log in prior to buying my ticket and access the content. There was a button there but just didn't work. However once at Pompeii, I scanned my ticket and this unlocks GPS on map, downloads, audio and expanded text about sites of interest. Being able to do this in advance would have helped to plan my visit and download content before Pompeii, where the mobile signal can be poor.

Needs signal to work and that is poor in many parts of the Pompeii site. Every time it finds signal it effectively restarts. You can download all the audio clips, but they are the last thing the app tries to load at a point of interest, so they won't play until everything else in place. Some clips cut short say 20s before end. Points of interest are based on Open maps, which also needs a signal. You need the bar code number from your online ticket to sign into the app to start.

Barely functional app. Crashes frequently. The map (one would think this is most needed function in the maze-like roads of Pompeii), is very slow, sluggish to respond, and lacks *a lot* of detail (half or more of the POIs aren't on it). The info for the POIs are short and non descriptive. Can't say much positive about it other than it works sometimes to show you where you are and what's around you, half baked.

Very useful, but could use a few improvements: Very annoying that pressing back when some place is selected (with open pop-up) logs you put and you have to reauthenticate. Ideally, clicking back when popup is shown should close the popup, or at least ask for confirmation before logging out. Also, hard to find for specific utilities, i.e. water or restroom - filtering would help, because now all places are clustered and you have to zoom it to see if there's a toilet in a given cluster...

The app can be seriously improved to enhance the experience. First it overuses energy which drains the battery (unfortunate when one wants to spend a whole day exploring the site and listening to content). The UI is unpractical because you need to load the map over and over. Buttons are not very responsive. Audio could be improved as well, quality and content wise. For ex, the audio has unnecessary sound effects, or the speaker refers to other audio that are not accessible from the app.

I'm fond of the idea to use an app and explore the place by my own. Yet the app appeats to be in a beta or even alpha phase. Offline use: You can download the audio in advance which is a hughe plus. But audio only. The maps still needs internet connection, which is difficult at the site. In addition everytime you switch to the camera or another app and then switch back MyPompei app it switched back to the start screen and you have to navigate to the menu where you want to go to.
