A waste of time and money for us. Free preview looked good, which is why I chose this one. But the paid version was super annoying. As I learned too late, it is most common to start the R2H from the up-country, but for some reason my version assumed we were going the other direction, from Kipahulu. I knew not to do that, and drove to the correct starting point, but in the app the entire tour was backwards,with no way to remedy it.

My new review is based on the experience while using this app on the road. Pros: very informative in regards to stories and sight seeing. GPS work where is no signal. Cons: The stops are not well coordinated , so we missed our turn many times. It should have some mileage indicator. Over all we liked it.

Well worth the $5. This made the drive much easier. It alerts you to all the major sites you'd want to see, and doesn't mention any of the out of bounds sites many people illegally stop at. Plus my wife really enjoyed all the history about Hawaii. But the app seemed a little buggy. It didn't like when we came to a stop and I switched to the camera. When ever we opened up the app after a stop it wouldn't respond. And we'd end up closing and reopening the app to get it up and running.

Used it on a recent trip to Maui. Loaded the app, which now cost $6.99 instead of $5.00, on my Sony Tablet. It was useful when the audio worked but, unfortunately, the audio would randomly stop working. Therefore, you would pass a point of interests and no audio would play. The only way to get the audio back as to stop the app, start it again and find the spot that I missed. Of course when I started the app, it started from the beginning and NOT where it left off! This happen multiple times!

We really wanted to love this app. The content was great and we loved all the stories. But, we could never get the app and GPS to sync. The app was always about 5min behind. We missed a lot of spots or had to turn around. We finally shut the app off cuz we were way too stressed about missing sites, trying to sync it with gps etc.

Fantastic APP the narration was excellent, stories were interesting and they had a lot of stoping (waypoints) to explore. This drive is an all day adventure if you stop to see all the interesting points. Plan for a long day, take snacks, eat local, get out and hike and see the beauty up close , have fune and mostly of all take this APP you won't be disappointment..

Fantastic! It was like taking a private guided tour with the family, all for less than $10. Gps directions were super helpful and the family loved it. I've taken a few of these tours now and they're always super easy to use. Highly recommend for the independent traveler or really just anyone! Great for families too.

I wanted to love this app so much, unfortunately it would not sync at all with the GPS and just played the first couple stories and ended. We were very disappointed to have wasted 10 dollars on this and for it to not be functional sucked.
