Live Traffic NSW aims to help motorists make the best possible travel decisions that will, in turn, contribute to the safe and efficient management of our roads.
Live Traffic NSW is owned and operated by the Transport Management Centre (TMC) which monitors and manages the 18,000km NSW State road network 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The TMC uses advanced monitoring, communication and traffic management systems to respond to and clear traffic incidents as quickly as possible, improve consistency of journey times, and provide customers with quality up-to-date information.
This app also uses data from interstate road agencies (QLD, SA, VIC and ACT), NSW Rural Fire Service, and Northern NSW local roads (myroadinfo.com.au).
We're committed to ensuring that Live Traffic NSW meets the needs of road users in NSW, and your feedback is essential. If you have any ideas, suggestions for improvement or questions about the app, please contact us by using the feedback form within the app.

This app needs to to be comprehensively redesigned. For example if you look at 'All incidents' they are sorted by distance from you. Good. But for 'Incidents in my region' they are not sorted this way. Which means I see all incidents from Bega to Wollongong. Not helpful. There are many other issues like this that make the user experience poor

Was 1 star review in 2013. Still 1 star. The fact that it doesn't show regional road closure in time of need (fire/flood) makes it useless for trip planning. Ive travelled across the state so many times on roads that appear to be open only to find hours into the trip that roads are closed and have to back track because it's not in the app or signposted. Councils need to be able to show their own roads closed directly in this app so you can plan trips that cross multiple shires.

Web site pegs my PC's CPU (all 4 cores) at 100%, with Firefox and Chrome advising livetraffic is slowing down the browser(s). Tried the app on my ZTE T86 phone (running Android 10) and get a similar experience. This app is unusable and wonder if the developers actually tested it under real world conditions. It deserves zero stars but can't go that low.

Was great when it worked, and it did well for years. Latest update way too slow, seems more interested to pull in too much detail of local business names instead of letting me zoom out immediately and assess what options i have with the actual traffic/ incident situation. App either goes to a standstill for ages when zooming out, or worse, stops entirely and crashes.

The app is usually good, but of late has become impossible to use - I need to use the website instead. Consistently crashes on my relatively new phone, whereas before 18 months ago on a much older phone it ran perfect. Maybe it's the recent flooding events that have gummed up the works, which is unfortunate, since it's precisely the time where an app like this is needed.

Uninstalled this app years ago because it never seemed to update incidents. Installed again a few months ago but nothing's changed as far as I can see. Still doesn't update incidents in the Sydney area particularly. People have asked me to check the app on their behalf. No reason appears for major traffic delays, then they tell me later they've driven past huge crashes ? Pointless! Won't install a third time, that's for sure!

The data is great, seriously - but ZOMG! the UI is *the worst* Can't have more than 3 stops in a saved trip (?) Cant edit saved trip. Turning layers (incident types) on or off is not intuitive. App hangs when deleting a trip (so you can make an updated one since editing isnt alowed). App frequently and inexplicably quits.

Edit: Update of 16 Nov 2022 appears to have fixed the performance issues. Original: Constant crashes, lagging and freezes as you move around the map. Very poor user experience, suggest it is likely because the app cannot handle the sheer number of events listed on it (and of course there are many councils that don't participate such as my own, making the information incomplete anyway).
