COMMON QUESTIONS:
Q: Do I need to be connected to the Internet?
A cellular network or a wireless Internet connection is required to purchase tickets, but you can use/activate your tickets offline.
Q: What if my battery dies?
Just like with paper tickets, you're responsible for making sure you have a valid fare at all times, so be sure to plan ahead!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
• Activate your ticket before boarding.
• In the subway, activate (“use”) your purchased mobile ticket before passing through metro station fare gates. Show your active ticket to the station agent, and pass through the fare gate closest to the station agent booth. If the station agent is not present, you may still pass through the gate as long as your ticket has been activated. Do not attempt to “tag” the gate.
• On the surface, use your purchased mobile ticket before boarding the vehicle. You may board through any door. If you feel more comfortable boarding through the front door to show your ticket to the transit operator, please feel free to do so.
• For Cable Car, use your purchased mobile ticket once you are on board the vehicle. Show your mobile ticket to the Cable Car conductor.
• Watch your battery level! Just like with paper tickets, you're responsible for making sure you have a valid fare at all times.
• Create an account before purchasing tickets, as this is the only way you can transfer your unused tickets if you get a new phone. (Note: Only unused tickets can be transferred. Use up any activated tickets before switching phones.)
• Don't uninstall the MuniMobile app or erase your phone without transferring your unused tickets first. Your tickets are stored on your phone (which makes it possible to use them without a cellular network or a wireless Internet connection).

This is a very frustrating app. It behaves as if it has real-time information and shows you the location of buses on the map, but they are completely false, based on the timetable. It's travel planning is limited, and it plans routes with multiple changes based on on-time vehicles. Google maps seems better. It is difficult to find timetables or see routes displayed on a map. One of the worst, well the worst, public transit app I have ever seen.

Just installed. Try to sign up and I repeatedly get the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again." Over and over. Tried to sign in with the credentials, same error message. A little more information as to what exactly went wrong would be quite helpful. Had hoped to save a few $$ over Clipper with a day pass, but not sure I want to trust an app this poorly designed.

The app shows Muni streetcars with estimates that don't actually show. And an earlier J arrived that wasn't shown in the upcoming departures. I could have made the earlier one if they showed it. Has to take an Uber in order to not be late. This is after paying for the all-day Muni pass already. Nextbus was a better app for showing departures. However, the all day pass on this app is useful, especially for purchasing tickets for multiple people.

For some reason it is very aggressively predicting bus and tram locations - meaning that it makes up phantom buses. It would often show a phantom vehicle moving right on schedule on the map, even though it does not actually exist. Happened to me on multiple occasions waiting for the N. I would watch the phantom move right along the map while no tram would come to the station. Trams are large and hard to miss, so it's not like it snuck past me.

There's no way to increase the font size. The bus numbers/letters in its tiny box and destinations are hard to read and there is no ability to two-finger-expand the screen. The icons for bus, Bart, light rail, etc, all look similar to me. It would be helpful if there is the equivalent of a 'mouseover' when I do a long press on an icon. Clipper card integration will be super good as well. Otherwise, it seems like a promising upgrade to the previous version.

I tried to log in 10 times, but it doesn't work properly with Google or Facebook login. Changing my password is also a mess. In the end, I had to change the language of my mobile system to fit in with this app. If an app like this is bad, why can't you just let people use it in a browser instead of having to send a ticket to the app, which only aggravates people?

It feels like the app is trying to do too much. The default page is set to trip planner, which seem to be similar to Google Maps but omits routes with muni bus in comparison? To get to the use ticket page user must tap the top left menu bar and go to Tickets, there is loading time before getting there too, this minor inconvenience will make all the difference in the long run. Would suggest making Tickets be the default page shown when app is opened, or give users option to choose.

Buggy mess of an app with a poor UI. It's usable, but barely. Requires way too many steps to purchase tickets compared to the old app (can't redo previous orders, have to enter credit card CVC). App doesn't start on ticket page, which is annoying. Buggy, frequently requires restarting the app, and crashes half the time. Like I said, barely usable. I wish they'd bring the old app back. It worked far better than this garbage.
