Loaded my parkmate wallet to the minimum top up amount which is $5 to give this "wallet" a try. Since the carpark I use charges $3 for a whole day parking. Was not able to use it when I tried. App tells me I can't use parkmate wallet in the carpark where I am at and such. Tried to reinstall the app, restarted my phone even. But still, same issue. What's the point with this wallet if you can't use it? Useless! Luckily I put only $5 in it. Still waiting for a reply if I can get it refunded.

This is terrible. It's hard to navigate, very slow. Worst of all it wouldn't let me select $15 overnight stay and it's making me choose a higher fee at $18 for 12 hours. At City Road, Auckland overnight stay is $15. Also the app charges a transaction fee and I topped up $15 thinking it was $15 and then I couldn't top up $3 and I had to choose $5 minimum. So it became $22 including transaction fees for a $15 car park.

Why can I not use my Google wallet to pay? Spent 10 minutes walking around your car park which still has signs pointing me to a nonexistent parking machine, having to jump over lakes of water in the process. Finally discovered I needed to download the app, and I have to type in a credit card number. It's 2025. Who carries a physical credit card on them? So after fluffing around for 15-20 mins now I have to drive somewhere else. I have multiple payment methods saved on my phone, let me use them!

The app works well, but there’s a missed opportunity for fairness. If plate recognition captures entry and exit times and photos, why not notify users when no session was detected and allow them to pay afterward within the app before issuing a fine? Honest mistakes happen as people live busy lives, and this would let people fix it without being hit with an $85 penalty. A simple reminder and grace period to pay would go a long way to fairness, an improved experience and encourages goodwill.

Not user friendly When you arrive to a meeting and there is no other way to pay, no cash, no google wallet not even credit card - the only way is to download the app, then I accidently clicked on the wrong location and received a parking fine, no option to pay by card or cash

Not a fan of the payment system. you have to start your parking session on an app... it's the only way to pay. but when you leave it does not stop the session automatically. you have to go back into the app and manually stop it. I understand it's a money making scheme.. but they will happily charge you a full day even if you were there 5mins.

Made an honest mistake and paid for the wrong plate. Reached out and got the most long winded condescending email back basically excusing it but in the most unprofessional way. Will just park at the local mall instead

The geolocation is horribly inaccurate. Sitting in the car in their carpark, it defaulted to another carpark with a similar name. This has caused additional costs due to parking fines. No other app I use has this sort of geo problem. Not sure if it's a design fault or on purpose as revenue raiser. Park somewhere else or use manual machines, that's if you can find one that is actually working. Horrible company.
